Water Week at the UP PEF

From 22 to 29 March 2024, UP PEF will celebrate World Water Day, which offers an opportunity to reflect on a variety of topical issues related to water. We would like to draw attention to the importance of water and to advocate for sustainable management of water resources, as we are aware that the quality of our existence and the very existence of life depend on water. Sustainable water management brings many benefits, including health, food and energy security, protection against natural disasters, improved living standards, economic development and various ecosystem services.
Programme:
- 22 March - Lecture by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nives Kovač on Water for Life
- 23 March - Opening of the exhibition of photographs by UP PEF staff and students on the theme Water for Life
- 24 March - Workshop for primary school students
- 25 March - Workshop for kindergarten children
- 26 March - Round table Water through the eyes of a child - UP PEF Student Council
- 27 March - Announcement of the winner of the photo competition

Prometheus of Science Awards for Excellence in Communication in 2025 also at the UP PEF
On Monday, June 29, 2026, the Slovenian Science Foundation (SZF) presented the Prometheus of Science Awards for exemplary philanthropy and excellence in communication at a ceremonial academy held in the hall of the National Council of the Republic of Slovenia.
