Quality assurance system at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Education
The University of Primorska, Faculty of Education (UP PEF) is committed to monitoring, ensuring, and continuously improving the quality assurance system of the faculty as a whole. Quality-related activities are discussed and coordinated by the Quality Assurance Committee, in collaboration with the Academic Affairs Committee and the Student Affairs Committee.
UP PEF is committed to Slovenian and European recommendations and standards (ESG) in the field of quality. The multidimensional nature of the quality system is reflected in the diversification of instruments for monitoring and ensuring the following internal improvement processes:
- evaluation (program and institutional);
- exchange and transfer of best practices into its operating and management strategy;
- management reporting:
- statistics and statistical analysis,
- annual and semiannual work reports,
- internal oversight of public finance expenditure, which encompasses management,controls, and internal auditing based on a unified system, aimed at managing operations and ensuring the achievement of objectives in accordance with the principles of legality, efficiency, and transparency;
4. user surveys: - student survey: gathering students’ opinions on their studies—the survey results are used to improve academic programs (by updating and modifying them) and serve as input in promotion procedures and in management discussions with employees,
- survey on graduate employment and employability;
- survey on employee satisfaction;
- monitoring the opinions of external stakeholders;
- 5. rewarding (awards and recognition) employees and students for scientific and pedagogical achievements and successful work;
6. support for students from enrolment to the completion of their studies: - tutoring and counseling for students,
- career counseling aimed at helping students make informed decisions about their studies, ensuring academic success, proper planning of their academic path, completion of studies, and more effective employment of graduates,
- extracurricular activities, including sports, cultural, social, and continuing education programs that enable students to acquire additional skills,
- involvement in management processes, etc.
The Self-Evaluation Report (for the study programmes and the faculty) serves as a fundamental mechanism for the continuous improvement of quality. It offers a systematic assessment of the current state of affairs through critical reflection, analysis of strengths and areas for improvement, and the formulation of measures aimed at eliminating identified shortcomings and enhancing overall quality. Its principal objective is to monitor developments and promote the continual advancement of the faculty’s quality assurance system across all areas of activity, including both core and support processes.
