At this year’s 13th IZIS Festival, organized for many years by the Cultural and Educational Association Pina from Koper, artworks by students of the Visual Arts and Design program at the University of Primorska Faculty of Education (UP PEF) are being exhibited for the first time.

The festival, held this year under the theme “End of Message,” features three student projects showcased under the collective exhibition “Death of the Internet.” These include Project Bunker by Maks Vertnik and Lazar Danev, the interactive installation VoxDei 2.5 by Gaj Kramar, Tilen Prelič, and Tia Štefančič, and the video animation Beyond Zero by Iva Gjorgjievska.

Each work, in its own way, encourages reflection on humanity’s relationship with the internet, technology, others, and oneself. The pieces invite deep contemplation and self-reflection by the students as a response to current questions about the role of artificial intelligence and robots replacing humans, as well as the effects of social media and the potential of the internet on our collective future.

The exhibition is on view at the Gravisi–Buttorai Palace in Koper until November 2, 2025 — Monday to Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The works were created under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polonca Lovšin and Marko Vivoda, head of the HEKA Laboratory. The work Beyond Zero was co-mentored by Asst. Dragana Sapanjoš.
