The University of Primorska, Faculty of Education has gained the accreditation of the Master study programme Visual Arts and Design.
The Master study programme Visual Arts and Design is an upgrade of the academic study programme of the same name at the 1st (undergraduate) level. As an interdisciplinary study, it connects various art fields and artistic and creative practices. The students will deepen their knowledge and skills in the field of artistic creation and production, while performing critical judgment and reflection. They will upgrade their understanding of the development of artistic production and the theoretical-historical assumptions that condition this production. In the frame of the study programme, the artistic practice is the core of all study events, as it is only within it that the effects of artistic research and conceptual strategies can be verified in real time.
After completing the study programme, the students obtain the title “magister vizualnih umetnosti in oblikovanja / magistrica vizualnih umetnosti in oblikovanja” (Master of Arts). The graduates are trained for independent artistic creation, engagement and action (also in the field of development of the artistic profession). They will also be equipped with the knowledge of techniques and technology for the implementation of design and design achievements within the creative industries.
As stated in the decision on accreditation by the NAKVIS Council, the study programme is of high quality and professionally based; it supports the development and expansion of the field of study of visual arts and design and creates meaningful solutions based on the possibilities and opportunities that UP offers in terms of personnel, professional and artistic capabilities.
